Life of an Herbalist
Hello, I'm Bonnie, Herbalist & Founder of Earth Cura Apothecary. I currently live in my hometown county of Monterey in the magical forests of Big Sur, CA with my fiancé, whom manages a nature preserve. I'm honored and grateful to wake up amongst the ancient redwoods everyday, and to share the wisdom and inspiration of this forest through my herbal practice. Surrounding myself in wild nature regularly, being a steward of land conservation is of top priority for my wellness and mission in this life. My herbal company is in honor of healing, connection to nature and sharing the natural gifts of Mother Earth.
I took a deep dive and embarked on my herbal practice, creating my botanical apothecary company in 2019 during the pandemic. With all the time at home and heightened focus on health and wellness, I pursued a dream of mine to begin herbal school with The Herbal Academy and dove into my existing passion of herbalism and wildcrafting. I began making my own home cleaning products, skincare, tea blends, herbal remedies, syrups, tinctures, salves, body butters, lavender eye pillows, handmade paper book-markers and so much more. My first product launch for the company were my beautiful and one of kind Elemental Healing Candles; clean burning crystal candles, scented with essential oil and wood crackling wicks.
I am an advocate for herbalism and believe it is important we understand and trust every ingredient we are putting in and on our bodies. I formulate with high quality, unrefined, cold-pressed oils and butters, using sustainable organic herbs & therapeutic grade essential oils. I craft all of the herbal-infused oils, which take between 4-6 weeks to infuse, as well as formulate all of the synergistic blends for tea, tinctures and various internal extractions.
Earth Cura Apothecary has between 30-50 various products at time, some seasonal, small batch to guarantee freshness and always organic. Yes I handcraft everything in the apothecary, and use most of the products daily.
